What “aligned” means here
Every resource falls into one of three categories. We state which one on this page rather than on the cover.
The resource teaches, practices, or assesses a defined student learning outcome. We cite exact National Core Arts Standards (NCAS) or Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) codes only when the content, the grade or proficiency band, and the student evidence justify them.
The resource helps students take part in standards-based instruction but does not independently assess a standard. We describe these as supporting instruction toward a named framework or process — never as “aligned” without qualification.
The resource supports safety, organization, equipment care, leadership, or rehearsal readiness. We do not force a standards code onto it. It gets an educational use note instead.
What we do not claim
- We do not describe any resource as “PAS aligned.” The Percussive Arts Society publishes reference material, not a standards framework. Where we use PAS material we name it — for example, rudiment names follow the PAS International Drum Rudiments.
- We do not put standards badges on covers or in footers.
- We do not cite an NCAS or TEKS code unless it has been verified against both the resource and the primary source. If a resource below shows no code, that verification has not been done. It does not mean a code is implied.
- We reference UIL as contest and adjudication context only. UIL is not a standards framework and we do not present it as one.
- NCAS is a voluntary national reference and is not automatically the official framework in every state. Texas TEKS is the first state crosswalk we intend to publish.
Direct instructional alignment
These resources assess a defined student outcome.

Supporting instructional alignment
These resources support standards-based instruction but do not independently assess a standard.
Pre-UIL Assessment Roll-Up
- Supports
- Instruction toward ensemble performance readiness, by aggregating director judgments across sections
- Codes cited
- None verified
- Scope limitation
- Does not independently assess a standard. UIL is named as contest context, not as a framework
Weekly Progress Snapshot (HS)
- Supports
- Instruction toward consistent preparation, by recording director observation over time
- Codes cited
- None verified
- Scope limitation
- Does not independently assess a standard
Program operations
These are operational classroom documents. No standards code applies to them.
Daily Rehearsal Setup
- Educational use
- Rehearsal readiness, equipment handling, and room organization
- Scope limitation
- Operational document, not a graded instrument
Equipment Care
- Educational use
- Instrument care, storage, and handling
- Scope limitation
- Operational document, not a graded instrument
Sub-Day Plan
- Educational use
- Substitute coverage and classroom structure
- Scope limitation
- Operational document, not a graded instrument
Bundles
Bundles contain the resources above and carry the same classifications. Nothing in a bundle claims more than its parts.
Sources & use context
These are sources and contexts we reference. None of them is a student-learning standard.
- Percussive Arts Society (PAS). Rudiment names follow the PAS International Drum Rudiments wherever rudiments appear. We make no PAS alignment or benchmark claim.
- UIL. Referenced as contest and adjudication context in the Pre-UIL Assessment Roll-Up.
- TMEA and ATSSB. Named audition contexts in the prep kits. Any reference names the specific audition requirement or publication.
Limitation
No standards crosswalk is published on this page yet. When one is, this limitation applies to it:
This crosswalk is an instructional reference, not an official determination by a state education agency. Districts may interpret and implement standards differently. Educators should confirm local curriculum and course requirements.
District policy and educator judgment control local implementation.
